Veganism and Vegetarianism are similar diets, both cutting out all meat products and having comparable health effects. Vegetarians don’t eat any animals and may exclude certain animal by-products depending on the diet. Vegans don’t eat any animals or animal products.

The vegetarian/vegan diet consists of eating vegetables, fruits, grains, nuts, and seeds. Some vegetarian diets include dairy products and eggs. Vegans exclude all animal-derived products, including gelatin, honey, carmine, pepsin, shellac, albumin, whey, and casein.

Considered the diet of abundance, advocates say that if you feel hungry on the vegan/vegetarian diets, you need to eat more food. The regimen consists of lots of fiber from the beans and vegetables.

Initially, the regimen has a few side effects. The diet may cause gas and bloat from the excess beans and legumes. The lack of meat creates a deficiency of vitamin B12, vitamin D, iron, and calcium. Depending on the diet restrictions, experts recommend certain supplements.
