I will always recommend Brandon Sanderson. He is one of my favorite authors, and Starsight didn’t disappoint. If you like sci-fi, Star Wars, or Voltron (TV Show), then go pick up Skyward and Starsight by Brandon Sanderson. The next book doesn’t have a name yet and comes out in 2021.

Setting:

We are on a new “planet” for Starsight than we were in Skyward. Spensa goes to an artificial planet called Starsight that is like the United Nations of the Superiority. It is full of life and art with hundreds of different species of aliens. The “planet” holds all of the galaxy’s governing body. It reminds me of the scene in Guardians of the Galaxy when Star-Lord meets Gamora or Coruscant in Star Wars, which holds the galactic senate.
Space settings are always convenient because if you need more conflict or more characters, you can just make up another planet with another race. It’s what allows Star Wars to keep going after forty years. That being said, it has its downsides too; never-ending universes can get a little too crazy and unbelievable. Every time you go to a new planet, you have to explain the setting all over again.
Going to a new planet in Starsight did just that — the setting went from one world to an entire galaxy, and it was almost unbelievable. I needed a few more chapters at the beginning of Starsight or the end of Skyward to set up…
