Renae’s Review of Ember Queen (Ash Princess Trilogy, #3)
4 out of 5 stars. Endings are hard. The Ash Princess Series is one of those rare trilogies where I like the second book best. I would recommend this series.
Setting: Astrea!
The topography of the land plays a significant role in the story because the war strategy hinges on where the mines, mountains, forests, and lakes are. And because the story revolves around elemental magic, the landscape comes into play even more. In that way, the setting is almost another character.
I love it when there are maps in the front of the book; it helps my visual brain so much!
A new part of the magic system is revealed, but it’s not about how the elemental magic works. We don’t get any information about elemental magic, so I was disappointed, and I’m still wondering how it works! What can the Guardians do exactly?
Plot:
