Quitting My Job Because of Work Depression
“We need you to sign this.”
I looked down at the verbal warning paperwork, my manager slid towards me. After reading it twice, I couldn’t look at him or his manager, sitting a few seats down in the otherwise deserted conference room. I knew the whole report was a lie. A big fat lie.
“Do I get a copy of this?”
My manager looks at his manager before answering, “No, we can’t release it to you for…reasons.”
“Signing it just means that we had this meeting.” His manager cooed. “This will go in your file. We just need you to acknowledge that we had this conversation with you.”
I looked back down at the paper in front of me and gestured to the paragraph of explanation. “I don’t agree with any of this.”
The managers looked at each other again and the boss lady started to ramble. “Ya know, incidents happen. We have all made mistakes…”
That meeting was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
