I am Starting a Blog
I’m announcing it the best way I know how, through an article. I’m starting a blog for a few reasons: I have a great idea, I’m tired of working for other people, and I want to work whenever I want. So this is the why and the what of my new blog.
It’s the typical story: I attempted a blog a year ago, but it didn’t take off. The problem with a blog is there are many details, marketing, sales, financing, etc., just like a business. I didn’t understand all the aspects of running a business. That is why most people’s first blog fails. I am trying again with a different niche, website, and attitude.
WHY
I have been working for eight years; in that time, I have worked twelve separate jobs. Long story short, I thought I was not good at working. The more I jumped from job to job, the more I disliked working. Over time, I concluded that I was just not meant to work — or so I thought.
My bachelor’s in biochemistry and my master’s in biomedical sciences. The two jobs you can get with a hard science degree (biology, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, microbiology, etc.) are research or academia. I tried working in a lab, and I was not too fond of all the rules and regulations that came with research. I also didn’t like not having control over my…
