“You totally suck at Guitar Hero,” Jennelle complains as she plays the final note of the song. Her guitar comes to rest on her muffin top as she pulls her light brown hair back into a bun. “I wish I had some real competition.”

“Oh?” I raise a blond eyebrow at her, letting the guitar slip from my grip after I miss my final note. I gaze down at her. “Competition? Should we go to play tennis? As I recall you love tennis.”

Jennelle grunts. “Do not.”

“But at the end of the game, you always have love.” I grin.

“Come on, guys!” Racquel whines from the couch behind us. “I want a turn.”

“Winner stays,” I say, lifting the guitar from my shoulder.

Racquel bounces of the couch and her brown curls follow suit. I look her in the eye and hold the guitar in front of me. “Behold, it is prophesied that you will beat this warrior in the almighty game of Guitar Hero, but only if you can choose the right song.”

“Weirdo.” Racquel grabs the guitar and strings it over her shoulder, not bothering to adjust the strap. “Okay, which one strums again?”

“Oh, dear.” Jennelle rolls her eyes.

I laugh and flip my ridiculously long blond hair out of my face. I pick up my book as I flop on the paisley couch. Harry Potter for the fourth time…
