Girl, Stop Apologizing: Excuse 7
A Chapter by Chapter Review of Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis
The subtitle of Girl, Stop Apologizing is “A Shame-Free Plan For Embracing and Achieving Your Goals,” so I approached the book as encouragement for entrepreneurs. It is for women who want to start businesses and make money. The seventh excuse Hollis tackles is the one used by women who haven’t become entrepreneurs because “it’s been done before.”
Many scared entrepreneurs don’t follow their dreams because it’s been done before. In Christy Wright’s book Business Boutique, she touches on this subject, but she writes, “The world is not a place of limits and scarcity. The options and opportunities and needs in this world are infinite.” (Wright, 20) Don’t worry; there is room for you too.
This chapter was refreshing in that I have used this excuse before as it pertains to writing. Being a blogger is a saturated field. There are billions of blogs out there and thousands of successful entrepreneurs who worked night and day to get where they are. It’s not a secure career. I found this chapter encouraging and motivating.
