A Chapter by Chapter Review of Girl, Stop Apologizing by Rachel Hollis

The subtitle of Girl, Stop Apologizing is “A Shame-Free Plan For Embracing and Achieving Your Goals,” so I approached the book as encouragement for entrepreneurs. It is for women who want to start businesses and make money. The fifth behavior Hollis suggests is “build foundations for success.”

“I know this is one of those things we hear all the time, and you’re like, ‘Yeah, I got it.’ I’m here to tell you, no, you don’t got it. You don’t!”

Rude. Hollis included this chapter because she thinks we can’t take care of yourselves. And that’s the point; if you can’t take care of yourself, you need Hollis to take care of you. You need to BUY her merchandise.

I’m hoping that wasn’t her intention, but she could have fooled me!

The Good

“From a place of feeling immensely blessed, we see immense possibility; we believe good things are possible and maybe even likely to happen to us.” (127–128)

“Your home should rise up to meet you.” (128)

“A habit is a series of three things:

  1. A cue
  2. An action
  3. A reward
