Christain Talk: Weird Phrases Christians Say

Christians need to be able to explain these phrases or stop saying them to nonbelievers.

Have you ever been left scratching your head after speaking to a Christian about their religion? I have, and I’m a Christain. I was sitting in church last week, listening to the pastor, and she said a common Christain phrase. I had heard the phrase before, but at that moment, I realized I didn’t understand it.

When I was on track to go to medical school, professors would reiterate using simple language. They didn’t want us to get so smart that we couldn’t talk to the average person about very complicated medical issues. They said, be able to put every concept in layman’s terms.

Why don’t Christians do that? Medicine is not universal, and neither is religion, so why do Christians use these that don’t make sense to non-religious individuals?

Granted, the place I hear these phrases the most is in church, a place with a lot of Christians. But how many Christians use these phrases in their everyday life with non-religious individuals. How many of those Christians can explain these phrases? How often do pastors take for granted that we already know these phrases?
